Courses

Japanese calligraphy lessons are given on an individual basis,and the student progresses at his/her own pace.

The class scheduling is flexible, responding to their personal needs.

The Montreal School of Japanese Calligraphy is a member school of the Nihon Shodo Kyoiku Gakkai of Tokyo. Students may elect to take exams and obtain the same diplomas as Japanese students.

The Director of the school, Hiroko Okata, is a graduate of the Tokyo Gakugei University and has been teaching for the past 20 years. She is amember of the Japanese Educational Society Calligraphy School and has had many exhibitions in Japan and Canada.

She has also created  artworks for agencies like Kutoka Communication Creatives, Air Canada, National Film Board, Time-Life USA, and for many advertising companies.
